---During Oct. 24-25, 2018, a 3-person delegation including Dr. Xu Jincai, Director General of HRC, Mr. Lin Ning and Dr. Cui Zhenhua attended the 2018 International Symposium on Dam Safety and Risk Management held in Nanjing, China.
The Symposium is sponsored by Dam Safety Management Center of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, World Bank Group, Academic Division of Civil, Hydraulic and Architectural Engineering, Chinese Academy of Engineering (CHAE, CAE), and is mainly focused on the dam safety and risk management, so as to further improve the technology and strength the all-around cooperation in this field.
In the session on Dam Safety and International Cooperation, Mr. Lin gave a presentation titled International Cooperation on Small Hydropower and Rural Electrification for the Countries along the Belt and Road, and in the session on Small Dam Safety, Dr. Cui presented Practices of Small Hydropower Ecological Restoration and Decommission in China: Drivers Measures and Case Studies.
HRC's partners in Vietnam and Lao P.D.R., respectively named Institute for Hydro Power and Renewable Energy, Vietnam (IHR) and the Department of Energy Management of Ministry of Energy and Mines, Lao P.D.R., also attend the Symposium. HRC took this chance and discussed the further cooperation with the representatives of these two partners on the cooperation in water resources management and sustainable development of renewable energy etc. along the Lang-Mekong river basin.(2018-10-31)
