---From Oct. 30 to Nov. 12, the Seminar on Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Energy Transformation sponsored by the Department of Climate Change, National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China, was held by HRC successfully. 30 participants from 12 countries including Cambodia, Ethiopia, Laos, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Vietnam attended. Study tours and presentations have also been supported by the Development and Reform Commission of Zhejiang Province and Hainan Province respectively.
During the seminar, more than 10 presentations have been delivered for the participants, including "China in Brief and ‘The Belt and Road' Initiative", "Addressing the Issues of Climate Change & Water Resources", "Renewable Energy Development in China", "Policies and Measures for Controlling the Climate Change in Zhejiang Province", "The GHG Reduction and Regional Energy Transformation in Hainan Province" and "Green Development of Small and Medium Hydropower" etc.. Study tours have been arranged to visit Laoshikan hydropower plant in Zhejiang Province and the smart PV water control system and R+D base in Hainan Province and so on. Country reports have been made by each participating country to exchange the information about GHG reduction and energy transformation of their own nations, and moreover, intensive discussions have been arranged among participants and Chinese experts as to achieve future cooperation in the field of climate change.
Mr. Zhu Ruiqing and Mr. Wang Yiheng, the Division Chief and the Deputy Division Chief of Resources Conservation and Environmental Protection, the Development and Reform Commission of Zhejiang Province respectively delivered speeches to the opening and closing ceremonies. Prof. Dai Jiqun, Vice President of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute delivered the certificates to every participant.(2017-11-21)
