---Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by HRC, 2016 Seminar on Small Hydropower & Rural Electrification for Asian Countries was held successfully in Hangzhou from 12th May to 1st June. 24 officials from 7 Asian countries including Afghanistan, Georgia, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Palestine attended the seminar. This is the 81st foreign-aid training program that HRC implemented since her establishment. With the joint efforts of all lecturers, participants and HRC training team, this seminar has achieved fruitful results.
During the seminar, officials enjoyed the specific lectures covering the proven experience and advanced technology in the field of small hydropower and rural electrification. Site visits were arranged to typical hydropower stations, solar power plants, wind farms, and biomass projects, as well as equipment manufacturers of hydropower, solar and wind energy, which enabled officials to have a comprehensive understanding about the updated technology and equipment manufacturing capability of renewable energies and rural electrification development in China. Through site visits of the demonstrative projects and equipment manufacturers, cooperation and exchanges are enhanced, thus promoting the export of Chinese technology and equipment in the field of renewable energy. In addition, representative of each country also presented a country report on the subject of small hydropower and rural electrification and had a follow-up cooperation with HRC engineers.
Mr. Fan Aihua, Division Chief of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Xu Jincai, Director General of HRC, and Mr. Huang Jianping, Deputy Director of HRC, were present at the opening and closing ceremonies. Mr. Fan Aihua and Mr. Xu Jincai delivered a speech respectively. Mr. Amir from the Ministry of Water & Power of Pakistan, as the monitor of the seminar, gave a speech on behalf of all participants. With the solemn national anthems of all participating countries, the certificates were awarded from the Ministry of Commerce to all officials, and the participants expressed their intention to enhance the cooperation between China and their respective countries.(2016-06-06)
