2015 Training Course on Small Hydropower Technology for Rwanda Concluded Successfully in Kigali

   ---Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, "2015 Training Course on Small Hydropower Technology for Rwanda" was successfully held by HRC in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda from July 8th to July 23rd. 25 participants from Rwanda Energy Group attended this training course. The training course has been given with great supports from Department of Foreign Aid of the Ministry of Commerce, Academy of International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Embassy of China in Rwanda and Rwanda Energy Group etc..

   In the afternoon of July 8th, the opening ceremony was held in Hydropower Training Center of Rwanda Energy Group. Mr. Li Yaohong, the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Embassy of China in Rwanda, Mr. Emmanuel Kamanzi, Managing Director of Energy Development Corporation Ltd. (EDCL), Rwanda Energy Group and Ms. Cheng Xialei, Director General of HRC attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. They all wished the best to the training course and hoped participants can fully use the technical skills to be learned during the training. Mr. Xu Jincai, Deputy Director of HRC, attended the closing ceremony and signed a MOU with EDCL, Rwanda Energy Group for enhancing mutual cooperation in small hydropower and other renewable energies. Local media report about this event.

   The opening and closing ceremonies were chaired by Mr. Lin Ning, Division Chief of Foreign Affairs and Training of HRC, and totally 8 professors gave presentations, including Mr. Pan Daqing, Assistant to Director of HRC and Mr. Li Zhiwu, Chief Engineer of HRC's design institute etc.. The participants also went to North Province of Rwanda for a study tour on river planning and hydropower development. (2015-08-17)
