Prof A.Kumar from Roorkee University of India paid a visit
to HRC together with his wife on 28 Nov 2014.
In 1986, Mr Kumar attended HRC's international
training program on small hydropower and now has become
a renowned professor of SHP and RE in a university in
India. Happily, he recalled his study in HRC some 28 years
ago, briefed his engagement in SHP and inquired the latest
development of HRC with keen interest.
HRC's Director Cheng congratulated
his achievements related to SHP and RE, introduced the
updated information in HRC's SHP international training,
R+D, international cooperation and etc, and summarized
the SHP exchange and cooperation between HRC and Indian
side during the past decades.
Prof Kumar evaluated highly the efforts
that HRC has taken in SHP norms/standards that HRC has
edited and translated, SHP international training workshops,
SHP information dissemination and etc. Glancing at the
pile of HRC's publications and teaching materials related
to SHP and RE in front of him, Prof Kumar felt delighted
and took pleasure to order 100 sets for the potential
use of his Indian students.
Deputy director Mr Huang Jianping,
assistant to director Mr Pan Daqing, chief engineer of
HRC's planning & design institute Mr Li Zhiwu and
chief of HRC's editing office Mr Zhao Jianda were also
