2010 training workshop
on small hydropower technology for developing countries
concluded with success

---On June 8th, 2010 training workshop
on small hydropower technology for developing countries
which had lasted for 42 days was concluded as a success
in the beautiful city of Hangzhou. Ms. Cheng Xialei, Director
of HRC, Mr. Xu Jincai Deputy Director and Mr. Zhu Xiaozhang,
Honorary Director of HRC as well as 17 participants from
10 countries under three continents attended the closing
ceremony which was held in HRC's multi-functional hall.
Mr. Pan Daqing, Chief of Foreign Affairs and Training
Division of HRC, presided over the closing ceremony.
On behalf of HRC, Ms. Cheng Xialei,
Director of HRC and Mr. Zhu Xiaozhang, Honorary Director
of HRC gave a speech respectively. Ms Cheng made a brief
summary of this training workshop and then expressed her
wishes to the participants that after returning their
motherlands they should make more contributions to their
countries' hydropower development and keep contact with
HRC for further cooperation. Mr. Zhu Xiaozhang addressed
his congratulations to the participants for they had successfully
finished all the courses of this training workshop and
also he hoped that participants should put what they had
learnt in China into practical use in the construction
of their own countries and promote SHP development in
their countries'.
Mr. John from Malawi, monitor of this
training workshop, gave a speech on behalf of all the
participants. Firstly, he expressed his sincere thanks
for the useful lectures and visits that HRC arranged for
them and all the efforts that organizers made for this
successful training workshop. Then he said the friendship
between participants and HRC would surely last forever.
They would keep close contact with HRC to promote the
hydropower development of developing countries. Other
participants also said they had learnt a lot from this
training workshop and conveyed their appreciations to
the help and care that they got from HRC leaders and staff.
The last agenda of the closing ceremony
was issuing certificates and presenting gifts. The participants
were very excited and joyful when they received the red
certificates which were issued by the Ministry of Commerce
and distributed by leaders of HRC. We prepared pen-drivers
of 4GB with all the lectures, the photos of the activities
and some Chinese classical music included as gifts for
the participants. They all treasured this gift very much
for they could not only learn knowledge from this pen-driver
but also get a lot of sweet memories of this 42-days stay.
After the ceremony, the participants
warmly invited HRC leaders and staff to take photos with
them. At the time of departure, they all expressed that
after returning countries they would try their best to
make more contributions to their countries' hydropower
development and they would play a more active role in
the friendly cooperation between their countries and China.
