---In the Afternoon of October 23th,
HRC held a briefing for its work.
First of all, chiefs of various divisions
gave introductions to the working situations of their
divisions and report their working plans for the next
stage.
Director of HRC Ms. Cheng Xialei made
a report on the work that has been conducted by and conducting
in HRC and made concrete working plans for the remaining
days of the year.
Vice President of Nanjing Hydraulic
Research Institute (NHRI) Mr. Chen Shengshui participated
in the meeting and gave an important speech. After notifying
such big events of NHRI as the renaming of NHRI, reforming
on scientific and technological industry, and the incorporation
of Nanjing Automation Institute of Water Conservancy and
Hydrology under NHRI, he made several working proposals
in the next stage. He said, while HRC had made significant
achievements over the completion of rules and regulations,
upgrading of qualifications, expansion of business scopes,
promotion of output values and enhancement in human resources,
there are still domains of great importance in the next
stage:
First, management over scientific
research must be strengthened and research programs must
be finished on time with high quality with the aim to
apply for the National Prize for Progress in Science and
Technology. Meanwhile the preparation work for applying
new research programs must be commenced in order to apply
for national Twelfth Five-year Plan support and special
funds for research projects of industrial public welfare.
Secondly, we will construct a platform for disciplinary
and scientific and technological innovation with the main
purpose to apply for the setup of Research Center of SHP
Engineering Technology under Ministry of Water Resources
and the Southern Base for National Scientific and Technological
Innovation for Water Conservancy----Hangzhou Rural Electrification
and Renewable Energy R&D Center. Thirdly, We will
continue our efforts to expand international market to
lay a solid foundation for the following year. Lastly,
we will consolidate the unity among all the working members
to seek common development.
