---Nominated by the Ministry of Water
Resources and the Chinese Association for International
Exchange of Personnel, Ms. Shen Xuequn, a project manager
with HRC, was selected to attend the "Management
of Hydropower Development 2006" ---- an advanced
international training programme held in Stockholm, Sweden
from Sept. 10 to Sept. 29.
The above mentioned course was one
of the global training programmes under the sponsorship
of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
(Sida), aiming at enhancing managerial and technical skills
and covering subjects of strategic importance to economic
and social development. Entrusted by Sida, Vattenfall,
a leading European energy company, conducted the training
programme, in which, 25 delegates from 20 countries participated.
The 20-day training was professionally
managed, with optimized time distribution, rich course
materials, and many supporting curricular activities.
In addition, during the course, each participant was asked
to deliver respectively a "Country Report",
and a "Plan of Action" as well.
The topic of the "Plan of Action"
presented by the HRC delegate was "To Improve Management
of Technical Training for Further Promoting SHP Development".
Basing on the briefing of the swift SHP development in
China with great support of the Chinese Government, as
well as the important missions and fruitful achievements
of HRC, the presentation focused on the remarkable contribution
made by HRC to the global SHP development, with over 20
years' efforts in carrying out a great number of international
training on SHP, which were under the list of foreign
aid by the Chinese government to developing countries.
In addition, the new challenges ahead were also analyzed.
With the updated knowledge and experience learned in Sweden,
the action plan, which included the concrete and feasible
measures, was highly evaluated by the whole of the lecturers
and other participants.
The results of implementing the "Plan
of Action" in the next six months will be given and
be appraised in the Part II of the training programme
to be taken place somewhere between 25 ¨C30 March, 2007.
