5 Jan. 2005, Vice Minister Suo Lisheng, Ministry of Water
Resources, Director Gao Erkun, Department of Water Resources,
MWR, and Director Cheng Huizhou, Department of Rural Hydropower
and Electrification Development, MWR, paid a visit to HRC
and took an inspection of the work concerned.
After the inspection of the newly completed
Training Hall and the under-constructed New Technical Lab
of Small Hydropower, the leaders listened to the working
report made by Dr. Chen Shengshui, Director of HRC. At the
meeting with HRC directors, division chiefs and representatives
of working and retired staff, Vice Minister Suo delivered
an important speech. He highly evaluated the achievements
scored by HRC in recent years, and called for more progress.
It is expected that based on the gist of the document concerning
the science and technology reform issued by the Ministry
of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Water Resources,
HRC will further improve its capability for market competition,
speed up the construction of the lab, and make more contribution
to the modernization of rural hydropower in China.(2005-01-14)
